How do you support the community and your filmmakers?

We prioritize supporting our filmmakers and community. That is why 60% of our subscription revenue goes to our 300+ content creators. Our kweliCREATORS have been guests for kweliTV events. We also try to share their work and help them gain more exposure. kweliTV would not exist without its kweliCREATORS. We really appreciate them!

kweliTV firmly believes in the principle of Ujamaa (cooperative economics) which is why we created kweliGIVES in order to give back and support our communities as part of our corporate social responsibility. We donate 1% of our subscription revenue to a different US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization each year. The money will be donated quarterly.

Previous recipients include :
Black Millennials for Flint (advocate against lead exposure in Black & Latinx communities, pictured to the right)

BEST Kids (mentoring for youth in foster care)

Black Film Space (improving careers of black filmmakers)

Detroit Black Community Food Service Network (address food insecurity in Detroit’s Black community)
